REDEEMED has won "New Group Of The Year" from Redemption Records

Zero Tolerance
Author Chris Anderson
There is much unrest in America today. Conservatives and liberals, blacks and whites, Christians and the ACLU; these are just a few examples of groups in disagreement. These groups are tackling the tough issues and problems that America is facing. In almost all these cases the viewpoints are polar opposites, which results in frustration and stalemate. Among these issues, those of a religious nature have emerged to become topics of heated debate. Recently, the Ten Commandments were removed from the rotunda of the Alabama Supreme Court building, citing that the Constitution prohibits the sponsorship of any religion. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the phrase, “one nation under God”, added in the 1950s should be removed from the pledge. Prayer in public school is now prohibited. There is no more invocation before sporting events and prayer to start school—only a moment of silence. Slowly but surely, the beliefs of students and their right to show their faith have been suppressed. Prayer is another form of expression. Students must be allowed to pray in school without fear or persecution; to express themselves freely.
Most students today would agree that high school can be a stressful environment. Often-times, there is a test to study for, a game to win, or even problems with love. In the midst of all this commotion, the word God can be heard periodically through the halls; but it is not. No, instead, it is because these students who say it are under this emotional stress for whatever reason. They say it out of frustration. This makes for a sad irony that the name of God can be found on the lips of high school students, but they may not gather and pray to him.
The most noteworthy of Americans believed that Christianity was so vital as to center the country’s moral idea and government on it. Abraham Lincoln once stated, “We have forgotten the gracious hand which has preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and have vainly imagined in the deceitfulness of our hearts that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.” The structure of American society is based from Christian principles and morals, which includes prayer. General George Washington, during his stay in Valley Forge, would make sure his soldiers could see him everyday when he went to pray.
There are many today who view school as an unsafe place. Much of this unrest has come from school shootings such as the one that took place at Columbine High School. While it cannot be tied indefinitely, there are many that believe that if prayer had still been in the public school system, the shootings would never have happened. This comes down to a simple matter of opinion since they cannot be linked one way or another, but it does serve as a good example as to the value that people still find in prayer.
Woodrow Wilson once stated, “America was born a Christian nation for the purpose of exemplifying unto the nations of the world the principles righteousness found in the revelation.” Prayer must be allowed in school—not for purposes of conversion, but of expression. Prayer is a way to show and demonstrate your faith. Prayer should be promoted, not suppressed.

Jackson Days downtown Jackson, GA

We had a great in time in Jackson GA this weekend. Daniel Hensley filled in for our lead singer, Preston Brown, whom is still recovering. The picture is from Saturday on the Court House Square. There were plenty of good foods (we tried to sample them all, but we failed). We are thankful for a town that still allows gospel singing. Sunday we were at the Heart and Soul Christian Center in Jackson, WOW! what a service. This was our first overnight weekend “ON THE ROAD AGAIN!” We all are worn out but we all had a great time.

SPECIAL THANKS!

I took our bus in for a little maintenance this morning and met two great people in the truck/bus repair business. They fixed our tires and adjusted our brakes. They put extenders on our rear inside tires so we could check the air much easier. Then it came time for the bill;   I asked how much.  Nothing they replied, this is just a little help because of all you guys do for the Lord.
If you need any repairs on your bus, I suggest you contact John and Johnny Rector, At Rector Truck Repair, Hwy 72 in Stevenson AL.

God Blesses even when we are STUPID!!

“It is NO secret what God can do!!”

A line from an old song, and we don’t want it to be a secret what God has done for Preston Brown. After 31 days in the hospital, and about 20 of those in ICU, Preston went home on 7-18.  I can’t wait to read, and hear, Preston’s testimony. He still has some healing to do before he is ready to climb back on the bus, however his progress is nothing less than, “ONE MORE MIRACLE” from God.
